I had an opportunity on Friday evening to shoot a high school football game. When I was first learning how to take pictures many years ago I didn’t have the luxury of an autofocus system and all the wonders of digital technology, it was a Pentax Me Super, Tri-X pan and a Viviatar 283 flash. As I mentioned earlier the luxury of autofocus just did not exist back then, you had to track the players manualy and have great hand eye coordination to capture the image, I don’t think the photographers of today quite understand the challenges involved in capturing a moving subject such as a fast moving football, basketball or baseball player and keeping them in tack sharp focus. Well I can say I have come full circle as a photographer. Here are some samples below.
